Your next job interview could make a difference in a schoolchild’s life!

Digitalent supports Response Network

This year, we haven’t been able to implement our usual projects aimed at supporting young people’s education and development. So, we decided to do something new and weave this initiative into our daily work. During the month of June, Digitalent will be conducting a recruitment campaign where every conversation, meeting, interview and recruitment will contribute to providing the youth of Zambia the opportunity to go to school. This gives you as a candidate the chance to give back to the global community, while at the same time seeing if Digitalent is the right company for you. Every contact or conversation counts, no matter how small. Each interaction you have will contribute to this important cause. And we know that, together, we can make a real impact in the lives of these young people.

What does the money go to?

We strongly believe that education is the key to development for individuals, societies and nations - which is why Response Network was the obvious organization for us to support. Response Network is an NGO that conducts several different initiatives, all of which aim to make education accessible to children and young people who otherwise would not have access to it. Some of the money collected goes to school fees, some to ensuring that quality teachers are available. And some of the money goes to creating proper conditions for learning: everything from school materials to solar cells to be able to study in the evening - things we take for granted. We support Response Network on a monthly and annual basis (something we are happy to tell you more about!) and have done so since Digitalent was founded in 2017. But now, we want to make an extra effort.

How does it work for you as a candidate?

In short, for every step you as a candidate go through in our recruitment process, we donate money to Response Network. After the process is completed, you will receive information detailing how much money your recruitment process has contributed and also what that money was used for.

Should it be the case that you go through our entire recruitment process, and we eventually become colleagues, we will donate SEK 5,000 for your process.

Julia, Tech Recruiter at Digitalent, has this advice: “The only thing you need to do is take that call or meeting. Even if the timing isn’t perfect or you aren’t exactly sure of what you want to do in the future, we are always on the lookout for top talent, so you’ll learn more about Digitalent while helping ensure a child in Zambia also has the chance to follow their dreams and create their own career path.”

Of course, we are as thorough as usual in our recruitment processes. Therefore, we have put together some tips to help you prepare:

Why is Digitalent doing this?

Education is a human right and one of the goals of the UN’s "Agenda 2030", and we want to do our part to support this goal. During the pandemic, we have not had the opportunity to carry out the projects we usually do, such as homework help and “Kodkollo”. But, we want to make sure we are still able to help in any way we can!
